It was bought new from thayer chevrolet in bowling green ohio . The nova, an 11a build date, was ordered by a friend with an l78 375 hp engine , bench seat column shift automatic transmission . It logged a few street miles and then was built as a ss/ea nhra class racer and sometime street racer. Ive included a picture of it in race trim from back then. It was sold in 1971 to make way for another race car . In 1995 the present owner found the car for sale and we realized it was the same car we raced as kids. The car was painted and a new vinyl top and front seat cover installed in 2001. It has some tears in the rear seat, headliner and carpets. It was stored again until this summer when we set a fresh 1972 402 big block engine , a 400 turbo trans, 10 bolt rear end and new exhaust to get it back on the street. The body has some filler and has single stage paint. It is a fun driver as-is or would make a worthwhile restoration project.
